ECOLUTION FASHION SHOW 2019

Early 2019 I was invited to be one of 18 designers to create a garment made entirely from reuse materials for the Sixth Annual Ecolution Fashion Show as part of the city of Pittsburgh’s Earth Day Celebrations. For the event I conceptualized and executed a custom, wearable, one-of-a-kind sculpture comprised entirely of goods that would have otherwise been destined for the landfill. Incorporating traditional handcrafts (basketweaving, crochet) as well as developing new tools and techniques while working with unconventional materials (industrial electrical cable, plastic drinking straws). Supplies were sourced from Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse and Construction Junction. The event was held at The Fairmont Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA and was worn by Docherty Talent Agency’s model and actress Miya Gossett.
